Logona Herbal Hair Colours

Logona Herbal Hair Colours are made from henna and plants including beetroot and walnut shells and have no phenylendiamine (ppd) or toxic chemicals in them. These colours are made using plants only and will leave your hair with added body and lustre coating the hair shaft only. Henna can also help with psoriasis and dandruff. Applying the herbal hair colours to grey hair will not show a dark color however will add color to the natural hair.Colours for grey hair are chestnut brown, umber brown. Umber brown has no gold colour and chestnut brown has a gold colour. Applying colour on colour always makes more colour so the more you colour your hair the better coverage on your grey hair. Chestnut brown on the roots and umber brown on the ends is a good combination. Always shampoo, no conditioner before application. Apply to dry hair and sit in the sun or apply heat over plastic cap and towell with a dryer. Leave for at least one hour. Always do a test strand for suitability of colour.

Sahara Blonde is more gold than Golden Blonde and the longer you leave it on the more color will be added to your hair which is the case for all henna's. Sahara blonde is suitable for blonde hair to add some gold color and can be applied to grey hair for a golden blonde color.Once you get used to the various colors you will be more confident with using herbal hair colors. If by chance you feel the color is a little brassey, just leave it and you will find with some shampooing the color will settle and look more natural in a short time.Sometimes it is a good idea when you need to retouch the roots and leave the ends so as not to result in any brassy color.Always do a test strand first.If you have strong hair and using the color on the roots then Sahara is good as the roots will never take as well as the ends and bear in mind, the ends always have a build up of color.If you feel the color did not take , then use more color ( a more red or darker color )on the roots .

Mahogany color is less red than henna red and is suitable for brown hair and adds red to brown color. The difference between henna red and mahogany is that mahogany has more black added. On grey hair ( white hair ) it will be bright red. Chestnut Brown is suitable for most colors except dark brown hair. On 50% grey hair it will give a blonde effect however it will not lighten but adds gold and gives an illusion of lighter hair. Chestnut brown will add gold effects to light brown hair. For 80% to 100% grey hair apply chestnut brown to the roots of hair only for a more natural look. This will blend and will not be brassy as the grey hair on the ends will take any brassy effects away. The effect is light on for the first time of coloring. Walnut Red-Brown adds gold /copper color to very strong coarse hair and can add copper to fine and grey hair. If the hair is coarse the copper will be less dominant..The roots do not take as well as the ends, somehow the color can bounce off the roots. Always shampoo the hair and exclude conditioner just prior to applying herbal hair colors. Walnut red brown is nice on light brown hair to add a shine and some gold /copper color however usually does not add a lot of copper. For variation of color apply walnut red brown on one section of hair and leave the next natural.You could also do one strand walnut red brown and the next strand henna red. This would be quite bright on light brown hair.The lighter the base the brighter the color.Walnut-red brown is okay over bleached hair for a copper effect however test first.

For the light brown and blonde hair, natural brown will give a shine and add some brown color. For 50% to 60% grey will add brown color and cover the greys to a degree. For 80% grey, the color will be a blonde color and will look great as i have just done my mums hair with natural brown .

Black is a tricky color and when mixed in a bowl, will go blue if left for a while and can turn bleached hair green so do not mix a lot of black with other colors however on natural hair usually does not go green .Do not use on bleached hair.For grey hair use henna red one day and apply black the next. This result will be red brown as the black tones the red down. Black on grey hair will go bluish. Black on grey/white hair is not recommended.If using black with other colors use around 10% black. Black on natural hair, med brown ( no bleach) or sun bleach,will go black.Henna is a plant and will never cover as a commercial hair dye. Results are only 100% visible when commercial hair dye is removed from the hair.

more deep color on brown hair. For guys who want a blonde color on their grey hair i have had some happy grey haired men. For less gold/copper try copper blonde. Remember on strong hair the color is less. Fine hair will throw more color than strong coarse hair. For a not too copper color just color the roots only when retouching . This leave the ends more natural.

Logona Herbal Hair colours are henna based hair colouring with No PPD ( phenylendiamine) . Phenylendiamine is the colouring agent in commercial hair dye and is the offending ingredients in Hair dyes. PPD is allowed at 6% only by law and can cause allergy. On a Material Safety Data Sheet PPD can cause irreversible damage to the environment and also on the packet it warns the customer not to get hair dye in your eyes as the hair dye can cause blindness. Phenylendiamine ( PPD )and Phenol are toxic ingredients in regular hair dyes.

Basic Application Solutions.

Shampoo Hair prior to applying the herbal hair colours

Shampoo then with Logona color Plus for Pre paration of color . This removes PVP and synthetic silicones. ( Try our Styling Products and avoid PVP and Synthetic Silicones ).Synthetic silicones are Dimethicone and Cyclomethicone.

Apply Color to Dry Hair.

Cover with plastic cap and towell

Apply heat from dryer

Leave for at least 1 hour

The longer you leave it the better the color

Rinse off with Logona Color conditioner

The color will continue to take.

Tips on Choice of color

All herbal hair colors tone down in a few days so if too brassy just wait and the color will tone down nicely .

No PPD (phenylenediamine) or Phenol

Chestnut Brown – in powder form for a golden blonde colour- ( apply to regrowth only after 1^st application, to avoid too much colour) see in book “Hair Raising Information”, even though the color says chestnut brown this does go blonde on 60% grey hair,view the book "Hair Raising Information " for before and after colors on all Logona Herbal hair colours.

Tizian - cream form for a red colour ( apply to regrowth only after 1^st application to avoid too much colour) or as desired.The result is not bright red but further applications can build up.

Indian summer- cream form for gold/ copper effect ( apply to regrowth only after 1^st full application to avoid too much colour, this colour is mostly gold/copper though rather then red.

Teak cream for a gold/strawberry blonde colour. Result is A lighter looking effect – nice colour.

On 50% grey

Umber Brown for a golden brown colour, nice colour.

Natural Brown for a natural brown colour

Tizian cream for a little red colour, will be lighter looking

Teak cream - result will look lighter and brighter, a mix of strawberry blonde on the white hair and teak colour on the darker hair –nice colour.

Most colours are okay on 50% grey hair here except – nougat brown ( not enough colour) henna red ( too brassey ), mahogany ( too brassey )or black ( no )and do not use lighter colours as lighter colours will not show up ….

Hair without grey in it, is easy to get results. - however nougat brown does not have a lot of colour.only use on blonde colour
The powders in general have better coverage than the creams
Black over natural hair ( no previous hair dye) say med brown goes a charcoal black – beautiful..
The more grey( white) in the hair, the lighter the colour , the brighter the red.
Black is highly recommended on med to dark brown hair…beautiful charcoal black colour is the result..….
The colour creams can be used for touching up grey sections in between previously colouring with the powders
Use color plus with the color creams
Two applications will lock in the color with the color creams
Apply colour cream on the part and crown area only to touch up between colouring for a very quick job

Dark brown hair does not show any colour results except for black henna.
Hena red and mahogany are suitable for hair without too much grey.

The difference between grey hair and henna colored is a big difference. Logona Herbal Hair colours work on everyone, it is just choosing the correct color and applying once a month to build up the colour and to cover the greys nicely.

The difference between commercial hair dye and henna colored hair is also a big difference, meaning here , the results on the coverage on grey hair.

The henna gives a translucent coverage and the commercial hair dye gives a 100% solid color. a synthetic solid colored appearance...............

To see the real result of henna , the hair needs to be void of commercial hair dye.

The henna hair color builds up after applications also,and results in better coverage, leaving a fresh shiny feel to the hair without the chemicals.
